Ian is a second-generation seafarer with over 25 years of experience in marine recruitment, ship management and seafaring.

Ian’s seagoing experience has covered various vessel types including Liquefied Petroleum Gas tankers, Freight/Passenger RoRo, Cable Repair and Cruise vessels.

Ian is the MD of Clyde Marine Recruitment who are Europe’s leading Marine Recruitment Agency, a family owned business created by his parents back in 1981.

David started his career as a Deck Officer Cadet with J&J Denholm Ltd in 1959. Following time at sea serving as a deck officer he went to West Africa as Port Manager before returning to Denholms as Ship Manager in 1973.

In 1981 David set up his own business, Clyde Marine Recruitment. David went on to establish the successful Clyde Group – with Clyde Travel, Clyde Marine Training and other related businesses – through acquisition and diversification. The Clyde Group was sold to a Management Company and Clyde Marine Recruitment returned to family ownership in 2011 with Davids son Ian at the helm.

In 2008, David was awarded an Order of the British Empire, Civil Officer (OBE) in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List for services to Maritime Training and the Shipping Industry.
 

Bala spearheads product architecture, development and implementation through best industry practices. He has more than 22 years of experience in developing recruitment and database software with multinational companies and start-ups.

His experience also spans software development technologies with Insurance Brokering, Office Automation and Workflow Engineering.
